Report: Lakers Still Interested in Major NBA Free Agency Move

The Los Angeles Lakers have made some external additions so far during the free period of the NBA, signing both Jake Laravia and Deandre Ayton.
While these two movements were quality additions, the Lakers still hope to add more. Many names have been raised as possible targets, both in free agency and on the commercial market, but so far, Rob Pelinka has not made other movements.
Even if the team added Ayton as a departure center and re-signed Jaxson Hayes, there is another center that is interested.

Of course, this center is none other than the free agent of Boston Celtics Al Horford. He considered his retirement, but also aroused the interest of a handful of teams.

A new report has revealed that Los Angeles is still among the teams interested in sign Horford.
Marc J. Spears, a long -standing initiate of the NBA, reported that Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors are still working to sign Horford.
“Golden State expected him to sign last week, he did not do it,” said Spears. “Lakers, Milwaukee, Atlanta, I believe, are also interested.”
Horford is now 39 years old. He only has a year or two left in his NBA career and will probably favor the possibility of having a role on a championship competitor.
During the NBA 2024-25 season with the Celtics, Horford played in 60 games and made 42 departures. He collected on average nine points per game to go hand in hand with 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.9 blocks, while firing 42.3% of the soil and 36.3% of the three -point line.
If Los Angeles can add Horford, his court problems before last season would be one thing in the past. It would be the elite depth of the bench behind Ayton.

That said, the Warriors were considered the favorite to sign Horford. He has not yet signed, which was unexpected, which could give life to the Lakers.
As for the Hawks on the list, Horford played a large part of his peak in Atlanta. He was previously a star for the Hawks. Bucks could offer him a main backup role behind Myles Turner, which was also signed in a free agency.
Expect to hear more news on Horford in the near future. At least for the moment, Los Angeles still seems to be in the running.
