How do you usually handle rejection?

Not good! [Laughs.] No, but you know, I learned not to internalize it too much. I think dealing with rejection gets easier as you gain experience. You realize it’s usually not personal, it’s just business. This is simply the agreement or details of what you are offering. Take a moment to think about why you didn’t get what you wanted, then move on. You can’t take it personally.

What parenting advice would you give to a new mother?

I would say set clear boundaries. I’m not saying to be too strict, but I think kids need to know where the line is.

What is your most comfortable work outfit?

I prefer pants and jackets more than dresses or skirts. For traveling, I have this super soft Lululemon tracksuit in dark gray. It’s very comfortable but has tailored details like pleats on the front of the pants that make it look neat and crisp, so you don’t get off the plane and arrive somewhere looking scruffy. It’s so versatile you can wear it anywhere.

What is the most recent book you read?

I just finished Unreasonable hospitality by Will Guidara, but I also read fiction, especially if I’m at the beach. I love Ken Follett’s books. I think I may have read them all.

What is your biggest vice?

Dark chocolate. With nuts.

What was the moment you felt like you had succeeded?

Actually, quite recently, when I was promoted to this position, about three years ago.

What is your favorite treat after a productive day?

A good glass of cabernet.

What is your favorite thank you gift?

If someone really likes wine, I often do it. But I will always try to make it quite personal and appropriate to the occasion.
