Aftyn Behn Channels Her Inner Nagging Karen During Concession Call to Matt Van Epps – RedState
Aftyn Behn, as evidenced by his past comments and actions, was not exactly the most emotionally stable person Democrats could have fielded in the special election for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District.
Whether it was Nashville, a city she would have represented if she had actually won last night, expressing support for people burning down police stations, or screaming like crazy after being forcibly removed from Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s (R) office, she exuded all the subtle stability of Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in “Misery.”
So it’s no surprise that Behn couldn’t just make a civil concession to the winner of the election, Republican Matt Van Epps. No, she felt entitled, after being beaten (we will come back to this later), to lecture the winner and tell him her demands.
This, according to Behn herself.
“I called Congressman-elect Matt Van Epps and I had a question for him,” she told a crowd of supporters after the defeat. “What will define what happens next? Don’t let Affordable Care Act subsidies expire. Don’t increase health care costs for working families in Tennessee.”

Aftyn Behn accused of her anti-cop remarks and defunding the police
You just lost an election, Aftyn. No one wants to hear your demands, your Obamacare wish list. The winner of the election does not need your advice; he is doing very well. The voters made that clear.
The loser cannot dictate what the winner does in the future.
Behn, of course, feels entitled here. For what? Because Democrats and the media have spent months insisting that this race is within the reach of so-called “Tennessee AOC.” They were going to claim moral victories no matter what.
Van Epps, however, won by walking away. By almost 9 points. Not the two-point difference suggested before Election Day. Democrats wanted a close race so they could win a turnout trophy. To claim they were those who had momentum and a mandate. But they didn’t even come close.
Does this mean Republicans should sleep easy as the midterm elections approach? Of course not. Was the panic exaggerated? Definitely.

Behn continued to complain in his concession speech, saying, “Republicans have made these districts uncompetitive.”
This sounds like someone suggesting elections are rigged, which, in 2020 at least, resulted in someone being banned from social media and declared a threat to democracy. It could even have led to them being arrested. But I digress.
Behn lectured Van Epps during his defeat. It’s clear she can’t handle the public’s rejection. Nowhere was this lack of coping mechanism more evident than in a resurfaced video showing her screaming and crying as she was physically carried out of Governor Lee’s office in 2019.
After being summarily dropped off in the hallway by the officers, she sits on the floor crying. More than likely, a glimpse of Behn’s reaction after getting off the phone with the congressman-elect.

She’s crazy. More like the “Rashida Tlaib of Tennessee”, amirite?
While Aftyn was busy lecturing and pointing the finger at the guy chosen by the people of Tennessee’s 7th District, Van Epps was delivering an elegant victory speech.
“As we look to the future, I say this to my friends in the liberal media and to the professional panickers in my own party. Tonight we showed that running from Trump is a way to lose. Running with Trump is a way to win,” he said.
A pro-Trump Republican now represents the Tennessee district. Not Behn. She is invited to bring her far-left platitudes to a contributor position at MS NOW. But she can’t make these demands of Van Epps.
