The Socialist Democratic Socialist candidate of New York town hall, Zohran Mamdani, dodged on Monday to endorse the Democratic Democrat of New York Kathy Hochy for his re -election, despite he recently approving his town hall campaign.

Hochul published an editorial in New York Times on Sunday evening, saying that his approval came after hearing “a leader who shares my commitment” to New York “. However, according to the Daily News, Mamdani told journalists that his objective will remain “in November” when asked if he would approve Hochul for his re -election in 2026.

“And I am delighted to have the governor’s support in this fight for November when we clearly indicate that we can put the days of the town hall and Albany at war in the past.”, Said Mamdani, according to the point of sale.

The approval by Hochul de Mamdani comes from months after leaders like the Democratic leader of the Hakeem Jeffries Chamber and the Chief of the Senate Chuck Schumer do not officially support the Socialist Democrat. In her editorial, Hochul wrote that even if the two had their “disagreements”, she shared her “priorities” on issues such as city security, affordability and the rise of anti -Semitism. “In the past few months, I have had frank conversations with him. We had our disagreements. But in our conversations, I heard a leader who shares my commitment to a New York where children can grow safe in their neighborhood and where the opportunity is at hand for each family. ”Wrote Hochul.

“I did not leave my conversations with Mr. Mamdani aligned with him on each problem,” added Hochul. “But I am convinced that he has the courage, urgency and optimism that New York must face the challenges of this moment.”

If it was elected in November, Mamdani said that he was planning to implement policies such as the increase in minimum wages to $ 30, the launch of grocery stores managed by the government and the “richer and white” neighborhoods. While the Republicans have raised concerns about the proposals, the reports have circulated that certain business owners of the city plan to flee if Mamdani took office.

Since obtaining his appointment, Mamdani has received calls from democrats and republicans for his potential plans for the city, as well as his previous anti-political statements and the refusal to denounce the expression “globalizing the intifada”.

In July, Mamdani bypassed a journalist who asked if he had regretted making several anti-political statements in 2020 and several times asked that the NYPD be funded after the death of George Floyd. Mamdani said the statements had been made “in the middle of a frustration” due to Floyd’s death and that they “do not need to choose between the two”.

During an interview before the day of the New York ballot, Mamdani was criticized after appearing on “The Bulwark” and refused to denounce the phrases “Globalize The Intifada” and “From the River to the Sea” when the host Tim Miller asked if they had put it uncomfortable. Mamdani told Welker on Sunday that even if it was not the “language” he uses, his beliefs are based on “universal human rights”.

Mamdani said on September 7 that he was now going to “discourage” the use of the expression “globalizing the intifada”, which comes after meeting Jewish leaders and other members of the New York community, according to Fox News.
