Airlines Sell 5 Billion Plane Ticket Records to the Government For Warrantless Searching

A data broker belonging to the country’s main airlines, including American Airlines, United and Delta, sells access to five billion plane ticket files to the government for research and monitoring of people’s movements, in particular by the FBI, Secret Service, Ice and many other agencies, according to a new contract and other records examined by 404 Media.
The contract provides a new overview of the scale of the sale of passenger data by the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), the data broker belonging to the airlines.
