Spit On, Sworn At, and Undeterred: What It’s Like to Own a Cybertruck

Then I gave my wife the Model S for Christmas. I started driving that, and I’m like, I like that. I placed an order for the Cybertruck and started building excitement afterward.
What do you think now?
Oh, I love it. Now, everything else for me – and I’m not criticizing other people’s things, I still like a lot of other vehicles – but everything else, for me, those smooth lines and everything, it all blends together. And the Cybertruck obviously stands out. I mean, we take the trailer out a lot, and I can go to a campground and there’s 50 kids coming out: “Cybertruck, Cybertruck, Cybertruck.” I carry small toys inside the trunk so I can hand them out and give them to the kids, and they love it. It’s a lot of fun.
Is there anything you don’t like?
I can’t really see the front of the windshield because it’s too long.
What is the Cybertruck community like?
When I had my Bentley and I met other people with Bentleys or Rolls-Royces, it was exclusive. They were a little standoffish towards other people with other vehicles. I’ve learned that with Cybertruck owners, it’s like, “Hey, do you want to see it? Come on. Do you want to take a test drive? Come on.” They are more inclusive.
What’s the biggest reaction you’ve had from someone while driving?
A few months ago, I think it was in Idaho, my son and I stopped at this place where there was a pack of bears. It was almost infested with bears, it was pretty disgusting. This person literally walked through the grass, through the bears, cut off other cars and was behind me, following me. And I’m like, man, who the hell is that?
