One of the most impactful moments of the original Stranger is the revelation that the scientific officer of Nostromo Ash (Ian Holm) is not human. Instead, it is a synthetic, or Android, programmed to make the wishes for extraterrestrial collection of Weyland-Yutani, even to the detriment of the human crew of Nostromo.

Which is the synthetic surprise in Alien: earth?

The synthetic surprise in Alien: earth is none other than Atom Eins (Adrian Edmondson), the Kavalier boy’s right -hand man (Samuel Blenkin).

The truth comes out in the final test between Atom, Hybrid Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and his brother Ermitted (Alex Lawther). Atom abandons his character from the buttoned company – literally, while up the shoulders of his costume jacket – and assumes the role of Enforcer. He fights Wendy and her hermit with superhuman strength, stopping only his attack when Wendy orders him to stop, which freezes him.

It turns out that the mechanics of the atom. Being mechanical, it is connected to the Neverland grid, just like the security cameras and the doors that Wendy controlled all season. This means that it can handle it as it can handle other parts of Neverland Tech.

But the atom is not just any synthetic prodigy. Instead, Alien: earthThe final reveals, it is the first synth that Kavalier has ever built.

Earlier in the episode, the Kavalier boy exposes his tragic background. He had an abusive father who, jealous of his genius son, threatened to kill him. Thus, at six, the Kavalier boy built his very first synthetic – an “distinguished” adult – and used it to kill his father.

As the Kavalier boy tells this story, Alien: earth Cut to an atom scene while waiting for the hermit in his room, ready to unleash T. Ocellus on him. The involvement is clear: Atom, himself a “distinguished” man, is the first boy of Synth Kavalier ever built. And just as he killed his own father, the Kavalier boy still uses Atom to do his dirty job.

How Alien: earth Atom tip being a synthetic?

Before Alien: earth revealed that the atom was synthetic, the series alluded it several times. In episode 4, while he and the Kavalier boy observe the infested sheep of T. Ocellus, the Kavalier boy launches a bullet against the laboratory glass speaker. Atom grabs him with superhuman reflexes, in the same way that Wendy caught a kavalier ball boy launched his whole way into episode 1.

Episode 4 also has a key visual index, lining atom’s face next to three synthetic faces hanging on a laboratory wall. The brief moment positions the atom as being linked to these parts of disparate synth, suggesting that he too was once the disparate parts suspended in a laboratory. At the end of the final, linear imagery takes on a new meaning, because the episode confirms that Atom was the first of a long line of prodigy synthetics.
