America Needs Economic Warriors

For most of the past decade, the United States and China have been locked in a Cold War, fought as fiercely for economic and technological advantages as for military advantages. In Washington, there has been bipartisan support for responding to China’s dumping of subsidized goods, its acquisition of dual-use technologies, its widespread theft of intellectual property, and its coercive practices. As a result, the last three U.S. administrations have rolled out a series of economic security policies to protect U.S. markets, supply chains, and assets, and to rebuild the United States.
