Cubs Predicted to Sign Dodgers World Series Champion in Free Agency

The Chicago Cubs entered the third best record in the National League on Monday, but their starting rotation could still use a boost.

The starters of the Cubs this season have a 3.88 MPM, which is by no means bad. However, it may be necessary to be better if the Cubs want to win the World Series. The team could seek to strengthen the group in free agency.

With many solid launchers who should arrive on the free market, Jackson Roberts de Sports illustrated predicted that Cubs would sign Jack Flaherty.

“Flaherty did not have her best season, displaying an MPM of 4.69 to 29 departures,” wrote Roberts. “Bâton withdrawals are still there, however, and with only $ 20 million on the table if he accepts the option of his player, it is more likely that he is bank on the market to enhance it enough to conclude a multi -year agreement.”

Flaherty was a key player for Los Angeles Dodgers during their championship race last year. He accepted an agreement of $ 35 million over two years with the Detroit Tigers, but can again test the market this offseason.

Flaherty is expected to obtain an agreement of $ 44 million over three years in free agency. It may not be an overly expensive option for cubs, but it could be an excellent addition to a rotation that could present Cade Horton, Shota Imanaga and Justin Steele. Cubs do not need him to be an ace, but he can be a solid arm for them.

He has experience in playoffs, which could be a major factor for Cubs next season when they try to bring a world series to Chicago.
