Yankees’ rookie pitcher is just behind Paul Skenes for impressive 2025 stat
After having lost Gerrit Cole for the entire 2025 to an elbow injury, the Yankees knew that they would need the players to intensify who could add a quality depth to their pitch rotation.
The team also dealt with other injuries, it is only recently by recovering the recruit of the year 2024, Luis Gil.
New York had to experiment with different rotations and players, and could have found a gem that they hid in recent seasons.
This player is Cam Schlittler, who has had a start of quality so far.
Thanks to six apparitions, Schlittler is already putting his name alongside some of the league star launchers in an area.

The criteria of this statistic are players who launched at least 400 quick shots at 4 runners in 2025. Schlittler has an average ball with 4 seams of 98.0 MPH at this point in the season.
The AS of Pirates Paul Skenes is right in front of Schlittler, with an average quick ball of 4 seams of 98.2 MPH.
The other four players in front of Schlittler include Chase Burns (98.4 MPH), Joe Boyle (98.8 MPH), Hunter Greene (99.3 MPH) and Jacob Miriorowski (99.3).
This statistic is not the end of all, but it is a good indicator of what will happen for the 24 -year -old.
