Orders begin on December 10, and Analogue says the systems will ship before Christmas. Standard black and white units will also be restocked, although they will ship in 2026.

The game consoles will be available in eight different colors, just like the Nintendo 64 of the time. These include:

  • Jungle (green)
  • Ice (teal)
  • Watermelon (rosy red)
  • Fire (orange)
  • Grape (purple)
  • Clear
  • Smoke (gray)
  • Gold (solid color, non-translucent, Toys R Us exclusive)

The colored models will cost $300, which is $30 more than the standard black and white versions. Analogue is also partnering with 8BitDo, a third-party controller maker, to offer matching controllers at launch for $45.

The 8BitDo 64 controller will also be available in all eight retro colors.

The “funtastic” colors will be available in very limited quantities, according to the site.

In 2021, Analogue also made the Poachedthe company’s Game Boy-inspired handheld, available in similar limited-edition color choices. Prices for some Pocket colors have doubled on sites like eBay. Given the trend, it wouldn’t be surprising if Analogue continues to introduce new colors of the 3D, including aluminum variants at some point.

News of the new Analogue 3D colors comes as the company faces competition from ModRetro, another company that recreates retro game consoles. ModRetro released images last month of its M64 console, which will upgrade the original N64 cartridges to 4K and stream them via HDMI for modern TVs. ModRetro’s design takes a more colorful approach than Analogue’s, relying on translucent colors and more rounded edges. ModRetro plans to release the M64 in 2026.
