Analyst Says Apple Has Big Vision Pro Plans For 2027, Including Smart Glasses

Apple will publish several AR and VR products mounted on the head in 2027, with a Vision Pro Helmet Up-up later this year, according to a report by the analyst respected Ming-Chi Kuo from Kgi Securities on Monday.
There are currently three Vision Series in development products as well as four pairs of intelligent glasses. A meta-basing intelligent style product will see 3 to 5 million shipments in 2027. Apple plans to send more than 10 million AR / VR products in 2027, suggesting that the company considers this as the next major category of consumer technologies.
Later this year, however, Apple will publish the Vision Pro M5 version, which will see an upgrade of Apple’s M2 chip.
In 2027, Apple will publish a lighter air of vision which will offer a weight reduction of 40% and will be fed by the last iPhone processor. A second generation pro vision is planned for 2028 with a brand new “much lighter” design at a lower price. At the end of the intelligent glasses, a pair of frames without mass screens will see a 2027 version. For those who want an XR experience, extended reality glasses with an integrated transparent color display will come out in 2028 and these will include AI connectivity.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
The smart glasses market continues to grow
The global smart glasses market was evaluated at $ 1.93 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach $ 8.26 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research. This is why many Big Tech players are embarking on the creation of the next generation of portable technologies.
Meta, with her intelligent Ray-Ban and Oakley brand glasses, has shown her Orion prototype, with a transparent screen that can project information on the lens.
Earlier this year, Google unveiled Android XR, its new AR and VR platform, as well as glasses made in collaboration with Qualcomm and Samsung. Chipmaker Nvidia also works on AI models to help smart glasses live.
In this race, Meta has the most to win because he does not have a phone or computer platform and is largely liable to govern the changes of Apple, Microsoft and Google. Win a foot in the AR and VR space could allow it to have both the hardware and the software battery.
However, Apple has a massive loyalty of the brand and the entry into this space would be a major threat to the current domination of the Meta market. Currently, Ray-Ban meta-lunes have sold two million units and its Quest VR helmet also pushed 20 million units.
