€65m release clause for Harry Kane (30) must be activated by January – Bayern Munich trying to extend his contract

Ball Reports say a release clause in Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich contract is due to be activated by January, but the club are trying to extend his contract.
The clause is worth 65 million euros and must be activated by January 31, 2026, by the striker himself, which would then allow him to leave the Bundesliga champions the following summer.
Bayern have no desire to try to buy out the clause, which could prove to be a financial burden. Instead, they will wait for the clause to expire before starting talks with Kane to extend his contract beyond 2027, as a new deal would not see an increase in his €24m-a-year salary.
Could Kane leave Bayern in the summer?
Given the Englishman’s recent comments about staying in Germany, Kane is unlikely to leave Bayern next summer as things stand.
When asked about staying in Bavaria earlier this week, Kane said:
“If you had asked me when I first left for Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back. Now I have been there for a few years, I would probably say it has gone down a bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.”
The 30-year-old is clearly enjoying life at the Rekordmeister, on and off the pitch. He has started hugely this season and has scored 18 goals and three assists in 10 games for the Bundesliga leaders this season.
