Angry Trump Unravels over 2026 Woes as GOP Panic Grows: “Flashing Red”
Democrats are running in the 2026 midterm elections on the theme of “affordability.” This week, Trump launched several angry and outlandish rants about his “affordable” message. In one, he became angry, saying it was a “scam.” In another, he said it was a “Democratic scam.” He’s angry because these attacks are working and because he knows it means the Republican Party’s midterm woes are getting worse. And right on cue, in this week’s special election in a deep-red Tennessee House district that Republicans won, the vote shifted 13 points to the left from 2024. That caused panic among Republicans: Rep. Elise Stefanik openly worried that Republicans were “underperforming.” Senator Ted Cruz urged Republicans to sound the alarm. And a senior GOP strategist called the outcome a “flashing red light warning.” We spoke to Amanda Litman, president of Run for Something, which recruits candidates across the country.
