Anker Is Recalling 5 More of Its Popular Power Banks

Anker has just announced another reminder for five of its very popular portable electricity banks, and you must check yours because you have a good chance that you have one. This is Anker’s second reminder this month, but society says that it is only from an “abundance of prudence”. Here’s what you need to know and how to replace yours.
A few weeks ago, we reported on an Anker reminder which potentially affected more than a million electricity banks, and now this number is about to increase considerably. The popular brand has just added five other 10k and 20k portable chargers to the list.

Wild concept.
If you have specific models of the Anker Maggo or the Anker Zolo Anker Zolo feeding bank, you must check the model number at the rear of the unit and stop using it “immediately due to the risk of overheating, cast iron, smoke or fire”. And while Anker continues by saying that the risk is minimal and that it is only a warning measure, it is still not good news.
The following electricity banks are affected by the recall. The product number can be found by checking the rear or the side of the device. For example, I have an Anker Zolo 20k, but fortunately, my product number is not on the reminders, but yours could be.
- Anker Power Bank (10k) – A1257 model
- Anker Power Bank (20,000mah, integrated USB -C cable) – A1647 model
- Anker Maggo Power Bank (10,000mah) – A1652 model
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20k, integrated USB -C and Lightning cable) – A1681 model
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20k, integrated USB -C cable) – A1689 model
“Earlier this year, Anker has implemented a series of improved quality insurance protocols designed to detect manufacturing problems earlier in the production cycle. These guarantees, including battery audits in the components extended in a single supplier. Global reminder of several Anker Power Bank models.”
If you have one of the Anker power banks mentioned above, you should stop using it immediately. Fortunately, Anker will provide a complete replacement or a gift card for anker.com so that customers can get something else to keep all their loaded gadgets. You can claim your free replacement by subjecting a recall complaint form and proof of purchase.
In addition, it should be noted that anyone with an assigned unit must eliminate the battery safely. You can’t just throw it in the garbage, as it is not sure and could cause fires or explosions. Interestingly, Anker also discourages the use of these battery deposit boxes, as you will find in large -area hardware stores. Instead, Anker recommends finding a nearby location that officially accepts lithium-ion batteries, in particular the one that can manage the recalled products.
Although I still like all my Anker products, it is starting to become a frustrating theme. In 2024, the company published global reminders for three other electricity banks and faced a similar situation with its batteries of Bluetooth speakers. So dig up your portable battery and look at these product numbers to be safe.
