Anker’s power bank recall is now backed by the government

Nearly half a million Anker electricity banks are recalled by the company, after a US consumer product Safety Commission (CPSC) investigation found more than thirty reports on fire and explosion incidents associated with the devices.
The recall implies anker power banks with models of model A1647, A1652, A1257, A1681 and A1689, a number which can be found in the list of models but which is also engraved at the rear or in the power bank. About 481,000 of these electricity banks that have been sold before are affected.
“Consumers must immediately stop using the recalled power banks and visit the Anker’s recall page to check the product serial number and register for the recall,” the CPSC wrote in an opinion. Anker also publishes a page of distinct products reminders.
The recall includes some of the electricity banks that Anker herself voluntarily remembers in June, although this recall also included the food bank of the A1263 model, that which the CPSC recall does not name. Anker also recalled the A1642, A1647 and A1652 electricity banks in September 2024.
The CPSC advises simply throwing the affected batteries. “The recalled lithium-ion batteries must be eliminated differently from the other batteries, as they have a greater risk of fire,” said the agency.
Amazon seems to have withdrawn the affected electricity banks from its commercial pages, although the CPSC also said that electricity banks had been sold in Aliexpress, Ebay, Walmart and Via Tiktok from August 2023 to June 2025. They cost $ 30 at $ 50 per bench. What should you buy instead? Consult our list of the best electricity banks for certain ideas.
With more than three months remaining in 2025, the CPSC said that it had issued 376 reminders and security warnings, a record. The Trump administration has sought to replace several Panel commissioners, saying that it has violated the agency’s non -partisan nature.
