Anthony Joshua, boxer who defeated Jake Paul, injured in car crash that killed 2 people in Nigeria

British heavyweight and Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua survived a car crash in Nigeria early Monday that claimed the lives of two other people, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. local time on the Lagos-Ibadan highway in Makun, Ogun state, far southwest Nigeria, police said.
Joshua, 36, was a passenger in a Lexus SUV involved in the accident “in circumstances which are currently under investigation”, according to a statement from the Ogun State Police Command.
“He was sitting in the rear of the vehicle, was slightly injured and received medical treatment,” police added. “Tragically, two other passengers in the vehicle lost their lives at the scene. »
Joshua burst onto the world stage at the 2012 London Olympics when he won the super heavyweight gold for Great Britain.
But the American public may know him best for his decisive victory on December 20 against social media star turned boxer Jake Paul, in a Netflix fight watched by an estimated 33 million people.
