Anthropic Claude now has memory, catching up to competitors Gemini and ChatGPT

Claude introduced memory this week, but only for some paid users of the AI model.
A few days after Anthropic announced that Claude can manufacture spreads and decks, he introduced a memory function for team and business plans. The AI model “now remembers you and the projects and preferences of your team,” said Anthropic in a blog post published Thursday.

Claude’s memory functionality is not available for free users or those who pay for its individual or max plans. Anthropic, however, has also announced the publication of incognito cats (the same idea as the incognito window of Chrome), which are available for all users. These cats do not appear in the history of the conversation or save in memory.
For users who pay for Claude at work, the model now Professional contexts “remembers”, including customer needs and project details, as well as your team’s models, such as your processes. Claude will also create a separate memory for each project, if you use the functionality of the projects (an “autonomous” workspace with its own cat linked to this subject).

Memory has “new security considerations”, according to Anthropic, which are designed to be used for work and avoid archiving sensitive conversations and subjects, but the blog post does not enter into details. Anthropic will assess and test how memory The function works before extending it to other users.
For team and company plans, Claude Memory can be activated in the application settings. There, you can see exactly what Claude remembers, depending on the blog post, and adjust the “memory summaries” to concentrate or ignore certain details. Business administrators can also deactivate memory for all users as part of their plan at any time.
Users can also import memory from other AI programs in Claude or export their Claude memory. Given that Google Gemini and Chatgpt have long been in memory – and even extended the functionality over time – it is a step towards anthropogenic catching up.
