Several “No Kings” protesters chanted anti-police slogans Saturday while uniformed police officers could be seen ushering in their march through the streets of Washington, according to video footage from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Thousands of protesters flocked to the nation’s capital Saturday as part of nationwide No Kings Day protests against President Donald Trump and his administration, particularly Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). During part of the protests in Washington, demonstrators repeatedly chanted in favor of defunding or even abolishing the police – while police officers visibly protected them at the same time.

“I said: Take to the streets, abolish the police,” shouted one protester leading a chant as several on-duty law enforcement officers marched with them, video from DCNF investigative reporter Hudson Crozier shows. “Cops spent hours escorting the protest and blocking traffic for about a mile, giving them the entire Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge along the way,” Crozier wrote in the post, referring to the arch bridge crossing the Anacostia River in Washington’s southeast quadrant.

Another video by the DCNF reporter shows a protester leading slogans calling on the capital’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to cut its budget, while uniformed officers watched the marches from behind barricades.

“MPD,” the man shouts repeatedly, prompting other protesters to respond: “Cut that budget!” » The demonstrators then launched into a repeated chant: “ICE go home,” the video shows.

Another photo of the “No Kings” protests obtained by the DCNF shows protesters wearing hats and carrying flags displaying the hammer and sickle, well-known symbols of communism and the Soviet Union.

Another shows a street message written in chalk on a sidewalk saying, “Nuremberg tests suite with S. Miller,” likely referring to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, who is Jewish.

Saturday marked the third such day explicitly designated for the nationwide “No Kings” protests, following June 14, 2025 and October 18, 2025. While the website of the organization behind the protests claims to oppose authoritarian rule in the United States, its official partners include several groups that have shown support for brutal communist dictatorships abroad.

“Trump wants to rule us like a tyrant. But this is America, and the power belongs to the people – not to would-be kings or their billionaire cronies,” says the No Kings website. “America has a long history, rooted in white supremacy, of suppressing the rights of people of color. But our history also makes it clear that grassroots movements are the way to end authoritarianism.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson called the “No Kings” protests “therapy sessions for Trump’s derangements” in comments to several media outlets.
