Appear for Epstein Hearings Dec. 17 or Face Contempt of Congress Proceedings – RedState

Bill and Hillary Clinton were summoned in early August by Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (KY-01) to appear before them as part of their investigation into the evil antics of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, and who may have known about them or even participated in them.
Meanwhile, Democrats have been in hot water lately trying to prove that President Donald Trump somehow colluded with Epstein to recruit underage women, but so far they’ve mostly succeeded in embarrassing people in their own world (see: Larry Summers, former president of Harvard University).
Since those subpoenas were issued, the Clintons have delayed, rescheduled and generally done just about everything in their power to ensure they wouldn’t have to testify. Comer has had enough and threatens to have them tried for contempt of Congress:
Comer: It’s been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed for depositions related to our investigation into the horrific crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Throughout this period, the former president and former secretary of state have…

The tweet continues:
All the while, the former President and former Secretary of State delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the efforts of Committee staff to schedule their testimony. If the Clintons do not appear for their deposition next week or do not set a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable.

The obvious question becomes: If Billary has nothing to hide, why not just come forward and tell the truth? In a statement, the chairman of the Oversight Committee said the time for patience was almost up:
“If the Clintons do not appear for their depositions next week or do not set a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable,” he added.
The Kentucky Republican gave the Clintons December 17 to respond.
In August, Comer said Clinton was the “prime suspect” in the investigation and warned him against defying a subpoena for his testimony. The former president’s spokesperson denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Bill may be reluctant to testify because, although Democrats are trying to link the scandal to Donald Trump, it was the former president who took Epstein’s plane, nicknamed the Lolita Express, allegedly as many as 27 times (President Clinton only admits to four). He might also be embarrassed by the bizarre portrait of him in a blue dress hanging in Epstein’s huge Manhattan home, or by the photo of the former president getting a massage from an Epstein flight attendant.
The painting of Clinton’s blue dress hung in the entryway of Epstein’s New York apartment.

While a finding of contempt of Congress can sometimes mean nothing — just ask Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder, who faced no consequences despite being held in contempt for his refusal to turn over documents related to the “Fast and Furious” gun-trafficking case — it may have some teeth if the Justice Department decides to bring formal charges. This is something former aides from Trump’s first presidency know well: Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon both went to prison after the DOJ prosecuted them for their alleged transgressions.
It would be something to see Billary prosecuted. They could, however, avoid this prospect and present themselves as the innocent couple they pretend to be. Time is running out and this could definitely become must-watch TV.
