But newly released emails from 2014 reveal that the lawyer’s affection for the “international man of mystery” prompted him to bring him into the inner sanctum of the federal government, going so far as to deliver White House secrets to the convicted sex criminal, reported Bloomberg THURSDAY.

At the time of writing his emails, the White House was embroiled in a global controversy: In 2012, more than a dozen Secret Service (and military) agents decided to cheat their way through a presidential trip to Cartagena, Colombia, hiring prostitutes along the way. Elite law enforcement did so, despite the fact that Colombian sex workers were frequently hired as spies by the country’s powerful drug cartels, sparking questions about possible national security concerns.

Ruemmler was one of the staffers responsible for the official White House response to the fiasco. Two years after the disastrous trip to Cartagena, she contacted Epstein for help in the matter, forwarding him a draft email containing sensitive information about the White House’s role in the sexual misconduct investigation.
