Apple is suing Apple Cinemas

Apple continues the owner of the Apple Cinemas theater channel, Sand Media, on an alleged brand counterfeiting, as indicated by Reuters. In the trial, Apple alleys that Apple Cinemas and Sand Media made efforts to “take advantage of the Apple brand, which is very considered to be in the national expansion at the national level” and that they “refused to engage with the repeated efforts of Apple to resolve the amicable issue”.
“Consumers should not go to an” Apple Cinemas “theater thinking that it is connected to the famous Apple brand, with all its good will and its brand, when Apple Cinemas has no relationship with Apple,” said Apple.
Apple cinemas did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Apple Cinemas has exploited “apart from a few city-aged city suburbs and peripherals,” explains Apple. However, Apple Cinemas recently opened a theater in the San Francisco Bay region less than 50 miles from the Cupertino siege of Apple and plans to open another soon.
“Already, the actions of the defendants have confused customers and diluted the brand of Apple,” explains Apple. The trial includes screenshots of publications on social networks asking if Apple Cinemas is linked to Apple. Apple also notes that “the media coverage of theater openings on the two coasts considered it necessary to explain that Apple cinemas were not affiliated with Apple Inc.” And includes examples. Apple Cinemas provides for an “aggressive national expansion at 100 theaters”, according to the trial.
