Apple takes down app that allows people to track and anonymously report sightings of ICE agents

Apple has eliminated an application that uses crowdsourcing to report the observations of American immigration agents, apparently after being pressed by the American authorities.
Iceblock, a free application only iPhone allows users to report and monitor activity by immigration and customs application agents (ICE) anonymously, was no longer available on the Apple App Store on Friday.
“We have just received a message from the examination of Apple applications that #iceblock has been deleted from the App Store due to” reprehensible content “, said the developer in an article on social networks. “The only thing we can imagine is that it is due to the pressure of the Trump administrator. We have answered and we will fight this!”
The developer said last month that he had more than a million users. Even if it has been deleted from the applications market, those who have already downloaded the application should always be able to use it.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
“We have created the App Store to be a safe and reliable place to discover applications,” the company said in a press release to other media. “Based on the information we have received from security forces on the security risks associated with Iceblock, we have deleted it and the similar applications of the App Store.”
Application downloads like Iceblock have increased while Trump administration intensifies the application of immigration with surprise raids. The technology was criticized by the authorities after the target of the agents.
The officials said last month that a shooter who had opened fire on an immigration and customs application center in Dallas had sought applications that followed the presence of glacial agents.
