Apple Vision Pro gets an official YouTube app

Apple’s augmented reality headset has just received a real YouTube application.
The Home of Internet Videos is now available as an app on the App Store for anyone with an Apple Vision Pro M2 or M5 device. With this app, you can watch YouTube videos in a virtual cinema-like environment, with full access to playlists, short films, and everything else you’ll find on YouTube. M5 Vision Pro owners can also watch videos in 8K if they exist in that format.
Samsung Galaxy XR review: An excellent Vision Pro alternative, but for whom?
Actually, the biggest news here is that there was no YouTube app on Vision Pro yet. This seems like something that should have been available at or shortly after the device launches in early 2024.
Crushable speed of light
Users could watch YouTube videos through the Safari browser, but that was it. Access to YouTube was never going to make or break the Vision Pro project in general, but it seems too little, too late, given the device’s recent poor sales.
Initially, it never really felt like Vision Pro had a big audience. But hey, those who bought it can now at least watch 8K YouTube videos.
