Apple’s iPad Pro just got the M5 chip — preorder now

PRE-ORDER NOW: On October 15, Apple released the new Apple iPad Pro with M5 chip. It is available for pre-order now on the Apple Store, Amazon and Best Buy and will ship on October 22.

Without pomp, Apple launched a new line of devices on October 15, including the Vision Pro, MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. All three devices are now powered by Apple’s latest chip, the M5, which Apple says is more than 4x the maximum GPU performance and is designed for AI.

The iPad Pro lasted a surprisingly long time without an update, and by that we mean it lasted almost a year and a half. The iPad Air got an upgrade to the M3 chip less than a year after the M2 launched, so Apple is still keeping us on our toes when it comes to production timelines.

The new iPad Pro with M5 chip will be available in 11- and 13-inch models with the option between Space Black or Silver finish. This is not the only choice users must make. The iPad Pro starts with 256GB of storage and maxes out at 2TB. The standard glass screen is available on all models, but nano-textured glass is available on the 1TB and 2TB models.
All iPad Pro models with M5 are now available for pre-order at Apple, Amazon and Best Buy and will be available on October 22.
