Apple’s newest health-tracking features are coming to older watches

Apple has just announced a lot of new health monitoring features alongside its new range of smartwatch – but you may not need to upgrade your device to access it. With the launch of Watchos 26 next week, Apple will bring hypertension notifications, live translation and new wrist gesture to the Watch Series 9 series and more recent, as well as the latest generation Watch.
The new Apple hypertension notifications use data from the existing optical cardiac sensor to “analyze how the blood vessels of a user react to heartbeat”. An algorithm will then examine this data over a period of 30 days and will inform users if it detects signs of hypertension. Apple says he expects the authorization of the FDA and other regulators this month. It will take place in more than 150 countries and regions.
In addition, Apple’s next sleeping feature comes to a wider selection of watches beyond the new watch series 11. Next week, it will take place towards the watch series 6 and later, in addition to all ultra watch models and second generation Watch and later. This function uses your heart rate, your wrist temperature, your blood oxygen and your respiratory data to assess the quality of your sleep when used with an iPhone 11 or later.
