Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt reportedly signing with Lane Kiffin, LSU

Sam Leavitt has made his transfer decision.
On Monday, Leavitt committed to LSU. He will join the Tigers after visiting Kentucky, Tennessee and Miami, in addition to LSU.
The former Arizona State quarterback entered the transfer portal after a 2025 season that was derailed by an ankle injury. He appeared in only seven games and completed 145 of 239 passes for 1,628 yards and 10 touchdowns with three interceptions.

Leavitt led Arizona State to the Big 12 title and a berth in the College Football Playoff in 2024. He completed 216 of 350 passes for 2,885 yards and 24 touchdowns to just six interceptions while rushing for 443 yards and five touchdowns. The Sun Devils beat Iowa State in the Big 12 title game before losing to Texas in the College Football Playoff.
After missing the entire month of November due to his injury, Leavitt’s departure from Arizona State became inevitable based on comments from ASU coach Kenny Dillingham. The Sun Devils moved quickly in the transfer portal earlier this month to secure the commitment of former Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley.
Leavitt spent two seasons at ASU after transferring from Michigan State following the 2023 season. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
