Secret Santa Brings Christmas Joy to Motorcycle Crash Survivor

A young man from eastern Idaho received huge surprises from a Secret Santa after surviving a horrific motorcycle accident.
The September accident left Josh with serious injuries, including a fractured skull, a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage and part of his scalp torn off, East Idaho News reported Saturday.
For several weeks, his family didn’t know if he would survive after doctors put him on a ventilator, a machine that can breathe for a patient, while he lay unconscious. However, he slowly woke up and finally began the healing process.
Josh was determined to get back on his feet and worked hard to relearn how to sit, swallow, talk and walk. He made sure to attend therapy sessions and has since returned home to be with his family.
But his road to recovery isn’t over, as he recently underwent another surgery to repair the remaining area of his injured scalp and continues to undergo outpatient therapy.
When Secret Santa heard about Josh’s situation, he decided to send Nate Eaton and his store team to surprise the young man and his family with $1,000 in gas cards, $3,000 in groceries, $2,000 in clothing and other necessary items, and a check for $5,000.
Eaton found Josh at his home on the porch, and he seemed to be doing just fine despite the hardships he endured.
Josh expressed thanks for the early gifts and told Eaton that he wouldn’t be allowed to return to work until March and that he was worried about getting groceries for his family.
When he opened the check, Josh said, “That just paid for my hearing aids,” explaining that his right ear was damaged.
“Thank you so much, I appreciate it,” he told Eaton, giving him a hug.
Social media users were quick to share their thoughts on the touching moment, with one person writing: “Miracles happen every day… this young man is one of them. Thank you Secret Santa for your gifts to this survivor and his young family.”
“Wow, the smile on his face says it all. Secret Santa is such a blessing,” another user said.
