Seville was charged with first-degree murder and burglary. A warrant will be issued for his arrest once he is ready to be released from the hospital, police said.
Investigators determined Seville was armed with a gun when he arrived at Smith’s home early in the morning and forced entry, according to the police report.
He allegedly shot her several times before killing himself, police said.

In a message to the community, Tuscarora School District Superintendent Zachary Kump said the district was aware of the incident, which “affected members of our school community, including students and families connected to the district.”
District police were in contact with state police regarding the situation.
Smith’s death was the second homicide of 2026 in Franklin County. A 15-year-old boy was killed in February in a drug deal/robbery gone wrong in the Chambersburg area.
It was not a homicide, but a Waynesboro woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after her 4-year-old son was found dead in their home on April 8.
