Atlético Madrid eliminated from Club World Cup as PSG and Botafogo advance from Group B | Club World Cup 2025

It took almost the second half, but the incessant attacks on goal brought their fruit to Antoine Griezmann in the 87th minute on Monday.

They will face second place in group A in a second round match on Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia.
Seattle (0-3-0, 0 points) became the second MLS team to be eliminated after the release of Lafc after its 1-0 defeat against ES Tunis in Thursday group. Inter Miami, who is guaranteed to advance with a draw against Palmeiras later Thursday in group A, could find himself as the next opponent of PSG.

Hakimi’s goal came to a fast counter a few moments after one of the best chances of the Sounders. Finally, Bradley Barcola was slipped into the repair area of the left, then chose Hakimi on the other side of the box.
Hakimi had time to take a touch of composition before shooting in a categorical finish at around 10 meters.
As expected, PSG had the majority of the first chances. The effort of Désiré Doué forced Stefan Frei to a sprawling safeguard in the 12th minute.
But the Sounders managed to press high and almost took a shock lead in the 19th minute after turning PSG at the edge of their own box – only for Jesús Ferreira to draw its highly high of the target.
Parisians were lucky with their 35th minute breakthrough. Vittinha’s initial strike from the edge of the penalty surface by traffic seemed to be heading for the right post. Instead, he struck the back of Kvaratskhelia, redirecting it carefully inside the amount before Frei could react.
PSG twice almost doubled its advance at the start of the second.
