BBC tours Orion spacecraft model ahead of Artemis II return

The Artemis II crew is scheduled to return to Earth on April 10 aboard the Orion spacecraft. At the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, the BBC was able to tour a model of the Orion spacecraft.
Upon reentry, the bottom of the shield will experience the hottest temperatures on Earth and will travel about 25,000 mph and withstand temperatures of nearly 5,000 F (2,760 C), or about half the temperature of the Sun.
