Ben Shapiro and Bill Maher clashed by morality and the Bible on “Real Time With Bill Maher: Overrime Overrime” on Friday, and the Jewish commentator Orthodox Conservative received an unexpected reaction from the public of the Liberal actor of Los Angeles.

Maher, the star of the anti-religion documentary “religule” and a well-known atheist, said that the Bible contains “nonsense” and “wickedness”.

“If God wrote the book, how could there be” things with which we do not agree? “You have to be perfect because it is written by you-know-how, or it is simply not perfect because it has been written by people, of course, and it is full of nonsense and wickedness,” said Maher, pulling laughter.

Shapiro and the “real -time” host discussed the Bible as part of a broader conversation on Shapiro’s new book, “Lions and Scavgers”. The book maintains that the company is made up of two contrasting personality types: Lions, who seek to build and scales, who seek to destroy. Maher then asked Shapiro if he would feel comfortable being compared to the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, whose work was very critical of Christianity.

The co -founder of the Daily Wire argued that Nietzsche’s criticisms on the Judeo -Christian religion – suggesting that it encourages weakness on force – were unfair. Shapiro added that those who believe in the Bible should also have faith that virtue produces better results in life than not behaving virtue.

The actor Marc Maron says he “always had a problem” with Bill Maher, calling him “desperate”

He quoted Deuteronomy 30:19: “Choose life, so that you and your children live”, and said it was a fundamental belief in Judaism.

When Shapiro told Maher that he was not going to try to force him to believe in the Torah, Maher embarked on an anti-religious criticism. Shapiro replied that the Bible provided the moral foundation not only for him, as a religious Jew, but also for Maher, atheist.

“Bill, you and I agree on morality, I would say at least 87% -,” said Shapiro.

“Morality … But not the Bible,” interrupted Maher.

“Why do you and I agree on morality like 87.5%? I am a religious Jew, are you an atheist – Why do we agree on these things?” Shapiro asked. “We have probably grown up a few kilometers from each other in Western society which has several thousand years of biblical history behind it. So you can think that you have struck this triple and formed your own morality, but the reality is that you were born morally on the third goal.”

When Shapiro concluded, the public burst out laughing and applause. Maher replied that Western society has drawn its morality from the Enlightenment which, according to him, were anti-religious. He argued that the founding fathers of America were not “particularly Christy”, while Shapiro stressed that Thomas Jefferson compiled a version of the Bible focused on morality with the miracles deleted.
