The coins depict eagles, pilgrims and George Washington. They do not emphasize women’s suffrage or the civil rights movement, as initial Biden-era designs would have done. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent abandoned those plans, Fox News reportsafter the Trump administration discovered that they “did not feature a single founding father, but instead emphasized themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Although the U.S. Mint has never released photos of these designs, Fox News claims to have obtained exclusive photos of discarded Biden-era pieces.
