Elvie Pump for $ 550: The Elvie worked very well, but it did nothing cool enough to justify such a high price. I saw the same results as with cheaper pumps, and it did not have as many interesting features as the Willow 3.0 at similar prices. I have not seen good results with this one, but it should be noted that it was one of the last that I tested, and my son had already started weaning.

How I tested the milk shooters

I tested all these pumps during the first year of my son’s life while I was breastfeed, most of which was in the second half of this year, after my milk supply stabilized.

I used each pump for at least 10 days in a row. During these 10 days, I saw how comfortable it was to wear and pump, how much he succeeded (I already knew how much the breast milk that I usually pumped during a session), how easy it was to go from the pump to a storage system and how easy it was to clean and dry. The portable pumps that I tried with a few different bras to judge the comfort (such as the Willow’s bra, which is made for portable pumps, and the sublime bra of Kemed Braverly, a breastfeeding bra), while the standard pumps that I tried with a Basic Pumping Board of Momcozy.

Do you need a breast pump?

You might be uncertain if you need a breast pump. It is difficult to know in advance if pumping, or even breastfeeding, will work for you and your baby. Even if you want to breastfeed mainly and do not expect to need a pump often, a breast pump can be useful to help build your milk diet in these first weeks; My lactation consultant recommended using a breast pump in the first weeks after seeing how low my supply was after childbirth.
