- We tend to find that the biggest savings are on older models, but be aware that these aren’t always the best value for money.
- Check the generation of the model being discounted to make sure you know exactly what you’re buying and what it’s actually worth.
- We’ve seen resellers shift to selling refurbished or used Macs when stock of new models runs out. So check that the model on sale is not actually a used Mac and is therefore not as good a deal as it seems.
- This doesn’t mean you should avoid refurbished models; you just need to make sure you’re not buying something used when you want a new model.
- Mac deals aren’t limited to Black Friday. We see great deals all year round, so don’t feel pressured to shop during Black Friday.
How to get the best MacBook deals for Black Friday 2025: our advice
Foundry
Apple has updated almost all of its MacBook models in 2025, and we expect to see historically low prices on many models and configurations.
MacBook Air M4: released last March with a $100 price reduction. The base model costs $999 and can be found for $750 during Black Friday week.
MacBook Pro M4 Pro/Max: released in 2024 and remain excellent machines. It’s worth the investment when it’s $300 or more off.
MacBook Pro M5: released in October, so expect modest discounts of $100 to $150.

How to get the best Mac deals for Black Friday 2025: our advice

Apple hasn’t updated any of its mainstream desktop Macs in 2025, so prices for the M4 models are as low as they’ve ever been:
Mac mini M4/M4 Pro: Apple updated the Mac mini late last year with an M4 chip and a new design. The M4 Mac mini is a fantastic device with an extremely small footprint, so don’t hesitate to pick one up at a discount.
iMac M4: The iMac has a 24-inch 4.5K display and a fast M4 processor starting at $1,299. Look for sales between $1,100 and $1,150 before deciding to purchase one.
Is Apple offering discounts on Macs for Black Friday?
Apple is not lowering prices for Black Friday. Instead, it offers gift cards when you purchase certain items. For Apple’s 2025 Black Friday sales event, Apple is offering gift cards with purchases of MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac and M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pro made on Apple’s US site or Apple’s UK site. Since they are so new, the M5 MacBook Pro models are not included in Apple’s offering.
The deal for 2025 is pretty good. You can get a gift card worth up to $250 off a new Mac, which is better than the 2024 max deal.

Buying from Apple means you’re guaranteed to buy the latest Mac, while other retailers may clear out old stock. You then have a gift card to buy anything else from Apple, including Apple TV, Apple Music, and Apple One subscriptions.
