Tesla says its new Megablock can cut costs for renewable energy storage.

During an event in Las Vegas yesterday, Tesla revealed a new battery configuration across public services which, according to her, can considerably reduce construction costs for public services, as well as faster installation. His new “Megablock” is pre-engineering; More assembly made in a factory allows an installation of 23% faster, according to Tesla. This is supposed to result in up to 40% of lower construction costs.
It is essentially supposed to be a Plug-And-Play platform, incorporating hardware and software services, to help public services respond quickly to the growing electricity demands of data centers, houses and electric vehicles and manufacturing.
Megablock integrates Megapack 3, the last iteration of the Tesla battery storage system that the company also made its debut during the same event. The latest Megapack has a “radically simplified” thermal bay with 78% less connections to minimize the failure points, said Tesla during the event and on X, and uses “the Tesla Model heat pump essentially on steroids”.
The Megapack 3 will be made in Houston at the end of next year, the company added. But Tesla is still based on Byd and Catl to provide battery cells, Shake Notes.
