Best VPN for Australia: Best VPN for Australia: Boost Your Privacy and Unblock Streaming Libraries

Proton VPN
Proton VPN is the only free VPN that we recommend, although we do not think that its level at no cost is a good option in Australia. The free version has an American server that allows access to Netflix, Max (previously HBO Max), Hulu and other streaming sites. It also does not impose any data ceiling, allowing you to use your VPN as much as you wish. There are no free servers nearby for Australia (the closest in Japan), so browser the local content and the use of a VPN to protect you on public networks can have a serious impact on your Internet speeds.
The premium version of Proton VPN has 268 Australian servers separated between Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. You will get 13,600 international servers in 122 countries. Proton VPN costs $ 10 per month, $ 60 for the first year or $ 108 in total for two years (one and two years’ plans are renewed at $ 80 per year).

Ipvanish
Ipvanish is easy to use and is a great option for new VPN users. We had no problem accessing popular streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu or Disney Plus in the United States. (Ipvanish belongs to the same parent company as CNET, Ziff Davis.) However, the incoherent speeds we have obtained (a huge reduction in speed to the speed test 2024) would make the content of these sites difficult without a high internet speed.
The IPVanish server network has 2,400 servers and more in 108 countries, which complies with thousands of servers in 100 or more countries than most of our main VPN providers offer. The VPN has servers in six Australian cities (Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Auckland). It is inexpensive initially, from $ 13 per month, $ 40 for the first year or $ 52 in total for the first two years. However, price increases increase the plans from one and two years to $ 90 a year after your introductory quarter. For the price, it is difficult to justify ipvanish given its slower internet speeds compared to other VPNs that we have tested.
