Bezos-Sanchez wedding worries: Blockades, yacht parking

Be happy you don’t have Jeff Bezos or Lauren Sánchez. Of course, being so rich would be great, but being rich comes with rich problems. With their imminent Italian marriage, they have a host of things to fear that would never cross the imagination of other more average couples which do not have 12 figures representing their net value.
Most of the details of the Venice Festival are maintained near the vest. Some local companies have confirmed that they contributed to the glassware made by hand and local pastries to the bags of gifts favorable to marriage. The names of certain guests have disclosed when the invitations were released in March (we are not the name below, do not fear).
But some details that could be upset for the bride and the groom take place in public. Let’s take a look.
The destination of your destination wedding could hate you
Any Venice may not really be checked, but photos, activists and media coverage make it appear.
The professor of Venice and activist Marta Sottoriva called the marriage “the symbol of everything that does not go with Venice”.
“There is a lot of anger in the air, because once again, the Council has enslaved the logic of profit-our city was sold to the most offender,” she told the Guardian. “Each time an event of this type occurs, the city stops, certain areas become inaccessible and even more tourists arrive.” (Venice has been really annoyed lately by its number of tourists, a bit like the Louvre is really bored.)

But the tourism councilor, Simone Venturini, was shocked that anyone who was upset that a high -level event occurs in the city.
“We should all be proud that Bezos’ marriage, an event of international importance, takes place in the waters of our lagoon,” he told the Guardian. “Instead, the usual protest professionals have not lost time. We want to reiterate that Venice is open to everyone. ”
Venturini was more colorful to speak to the Wall Street Journal, saying: “If Bezos’ marriage continues as planned, without these painful events, Venetian citizens will not even notice it.”
The couple’s wedding planners in London of the couple, Lanza & Baucina, told CNN in a press release: “The rumors of” taking up “the city are entirely false and diametrically opposed to our objectives and reality.” They and the customer, said the planners, wanted to minimize any disturbance of the city.
That said, it is impossible to obtain a reservation this week at Aman Venice, the hotel of almost 500 years on the big channel where the happy couple would be stayed, at least for part of their wedding week, as well as a crowd of wedding guests. The place is fully reserved until Sunday, by TMZ, at $ 2,000 at $ 10,000 per night per room.
The demonstrations could really screw things up
Forget to throw soup on the “Mona Lisa” – Bezos’ wedding demonstrators could do something really offensive: they threaten to screw up the day.
“Bezos will never reach the mercordia [event space]According to CNN, activist Federica Toninello told a grateful crowd.
After learning what the mercordia is, we have no idea of the role that the location could play in the wedding, but it looks like a pretty pleasant place for a reception. Fondazione Giorgio Cini, a cultural center built in 1951, was also launched as a place of marriage. But back to blockade and others.
Another speaker from this same rally said that she did not want Venice to remember as a beautiful place of marriage but “like the city which was not leaned over to the oligarchs”.
“We cannot miss a chance to disrupt a 10 million dollars wedding,” said Na Haby Stella Faye-because, how often does this chance present? Although her goal indicated during the rally was “to arrest this marriage”, in her Instagram stories on Monday, she promoted a planned protest from Bezos, President Trump and, well, of war.

The less aggressive protests include a multitude of banners and posters “no space for Bezos” which were suspended in the city. A colossal message from Greenpeace to Bezos was presented on Monday at Piazza San Marco. The square banner, which said “if you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more taxes”, was quickly withdrawn and swept away by local cops, reported the Associated Press.
“It is absurd to treat this city as if it were Disneyland,” said Grazia Satta, a retired teacher and social worker, according to the Wall Street Journal. “The message that this marriage sends is that the rich can do what they want. We should not kneel before wealth like this.”
On Monday, the Bezos security team made last minute changes to try to thwart the activists, according to TMZ. Even water taxi companies are “kept in the dark,” said the site, and if water taxis do not know what is happening, which really does?
Maybe Bezos could use this 212 billion dollars bank account and enlist a leading delivery man to deposit and his brides discreetly at their reception? Although the Amazon box of human scale can be a dead gift.
Who is the yacht the largest – and where are they going to park?
Yes, we know that the yachts do not “park”, they drop the anchor. But no matter what you call it, the biggest yachts cannot fall anchor in all parts of Venice.
A marriage theory judged that Bezos and Sánchez will exchange their wishes on his 417 feet yacht, the Koru, where he offered him two years ago after five years of meetings. But the plans pointed out to dock the yacht in a lagoon could have changed. Apparently, the concept close to the ground begins to look like a risk of security because of these endangered manifestations of the richest man in the world.
The Koru is far from being the only large floating boat in town, be careful. Venice has nine “yachts ports”, which were all reserved for wedding week. Apparently, TMZ reported, owners of non -celebrity billionaire yachts, modify their holiday plans in Venice to avoid crushing. Which should prick.
Fortunately, although the yacht situation is fluid and the airspace in Venice is closed, CNN has reported that private helicopters receive a pass, in case a head of state decides the propeller. As we do.
A type of motorcycle not involved in the festivities? The gondolas, or at least those managed by people to whom the WSJ spoke. “We are too slow,” deplored a gondolier.
International events can affect the guest list
President Trump would have obtained an invitation to marriage. Not clear if one more for Melania has been included. However, the commander-in-chief is a little busy managing world events these days-difficult to say if he will be able to run away, even for a gala event like this. Aren’t destination weddings the worst? So embarrassing.
That said, Ivanka Trump and the husband Jared Kushner would also have been invited, with Jared’s brother Joshua Kushner, and his model wife Karlie Kloss. Thus, the first family could be represented after all. And who knows, Potus could pass. Does Marine One count as a “private” helicopter?
Others on the guest list, by TMZ, include Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Bill Gates, Singer Jewel, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Barbra Streisand, Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Brian Grazer, Barry Diller, Morrone and Queen Rania of Jordan. Perry will not witness it because she is on tour.
