Biden is diagnosed with ‘aggressive’ form of prostate cancer

Washington – Former President Biden received a “aggressive form” diagnosis of prostate cancer, said his office on Sunday, a devastating development after abandoning his candidacy for re -election last summer for general concerns about his age and health.
Biden’s personal office said he was examined last week after the president reported a series of symptoms concerning.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new conclusion of a prostate nodule after having experienced growing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he received a diagnosis of prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (grade 5 of grade 5) with metastases of the bone,” the office said in a statement.
“Although this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, cancer seems sensitive to hormones, which allows effective management. The president and his family examine the processing options with his doctors,” added the press release.
The former president, 82, had made his first public appearances since his departure from the office in recent weeks, including a public provision and a long base on ABC “The View”, and also hired a communication strategist to help burn his inheritance in the middle of the publication of a series of books critically examining his time at the White House.
Biden has tragic personal history with cancer, losing his son, Beau Biden, in the glioblastoma in 2015, when he was vice-president. At that time, he launched “Moshot cancer”, a surge on the government scale to improve cancer treatments that he relaunched during his presidency.
The propagation of bone cancer will make Biden cancer difficult to heal. But his receptivity to hormonal treatments could help his medical team inhibit cancer growth, at least temporarily.
Biden abandoned the 2024 race in July under immense pressure from the leadership of the Democratic Party after a disastrous debate with the republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, expressed his concerns about his age and acuity.
A few hours after abandoning the race, Biden approved his vice-president, Kamala Harris, to run in his place. She quickly merged the party around her appointment and avoided a primary battle, but lost against Trump in November.
In an article on X, Harris said that she and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were saddened to learn the diagnosis of Biden. “We keep it, Dr. Biden, and all their family in our hearts and prayers during this period,” she wrote. “Joe is a fighter – and I know that he will take up this challenge with the same force, the same resilience and the optimism that have always defined his life and his leadership. We hope for a complete and fast recovery. “
Last week on “The View”, Biden said he had taken responsibility for Trump’s return to power because he was in office at the time. “I do it, because, look, I was in charge and he won. So you know, I take responsibility,” he said.
But he continued to reject the criticisms that he and his team worked to hide the effects of his age on his performance as president, saying that he was not surprised by the loss of Harris and suggesting that he was still thinking that he could have beat Trump if he had stayed in the race.
“It was not a slam dunk,” he said, referring to President Trump’s victory. “Let me say so.” He had the 100 worst days that all president has ever had. And I wouldn’t say that honesty was its strong point. ”
Trump expressed his concern about Biden’s state in a social post of truth on Sunday. “Melania and I are saddened to hear about the recent medical diagnosis of Joe Biden. We make our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a quick and successful recovery,” he wrote.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was one of the many politicians from the two parties who have published their warm wishes and prayers for the former president. “Our hearts are with President Biden and all his family at the moment. A man of dignity, strength and compassion as he deserves a long and beautiful life. Sending strength, healing and prayers,” wrote Newsom on X.
The president of the Mike Johnson room (R-La.) Wrote on X: “It is certainly a sad news, and the Johnson family will join the countless others who pray for the former president following his diagnosis.”
Biden spent the weekend in Delaware with his family, said an assistant.
