The Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers qualified for the Conference USA playoffs after the Indianapolis Colts lost June 48-27 to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Colts’ fifth straight loss ensured that Josh Allen and Bill (11-4) passed for the seventh consecutive year at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Justin Herbert and the Chargers (11-4) were, for the second time, under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Trevor Lawrence is on the roster for his second playoff appearance in five seasons against the AFC South-leading Jaguars (11-4). This is Jacksonville’s third trip to the playoffs starting in 2017.
All three teams are in a position to advance after successfully touring the country. Buffalo won 23-20 in Cleveland, Los Angeles dominated 34-17 in Dallas and Jacksonville beat AFC West leader Denver 34-20.
Los Bills is a New England game in the AFC East, the same deficit as Los Angeles behind the Broncos. Buffalo needs help getting to the Patriots, but the Chargers can conquer AFC Oeste by spending the weekend at home in Houston.
Los Angeles visited Denver in the regular season finale, and a Victoria was brought to the Chargers in breaking down a fence against the Broncos.
Los Angeles lost to the Texans in the playoffs last season in Harbaugh’s debut with the Chargers, a year after reaching Michigan in the national championship.
Harbaugh made the playoffs in the fifth of his six seasons as an NFL coach and head coach. San Francisco was ranked in the top three of his four seasons with the 49ers. That included a trip to the Super Bowl during the 2012 season when Harbaugh lost his brother, Baltimore coach John Harbaugh.
Los Chargers are 4-0 since Herbert beat a man in his hand on his throw against Las Vegas in the win that kicked off the Racha Ganadora. Herbert’s hand is heavily protected in all three games as the holder of the policy to repair the man’s body.
Bills coach Sean McDermott has made the playoffs three times in his new season. The Jaguars move forward with first-year coach Liam Coen.
