Opening night at Crescenta Valley’s new stadium was ‘unbelievable’

It was a week the football coach of Crescenta Valley, Hudson Gossard, will never forget.
It started with him having to go from the defensive coordinator to the attacking coordinator after having resulted in changes. Then his wife had to undergo surgery. He then had to take care of the final preparations for Crescenta Valley to open his new stadium on September 5.
“It was an incredible atmosphere,” said Gossard. “High school students dream of playing on their own high school campus. It was something great, something special. ”
Gossard was almost in tears after what happened before the match against South Pasadena. He said before each match, he receives a kiss from his wife, Codi. She was chased from the hospital and surprised her with a kiss.
“It’s a saint,” he said.
Gossard went to the press box to call the pieces like his father, Dennis, who died in June after some 50 years of participation in Crescenta Valley Football.
Crescenta Valley ended up winning the match 42-21. Emotions and memories will not be forgotten.
