‘How Do You Not Stand?’ Trump Blasts Dems for Sitting for Iryna Zarutska
President Donald Trump blasted Democrats for refusing to recognize the parents of murdered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska during the State of the Union address Tuesday night. “How can you not stand?” » asked the president.
“Keeping America’s Promise true means keeping America safe. We’ve made incredible progress, but dangerous repeat offenders continue to be released again and again by pro-crime Democratic politicians,” President Trump said.

“We are honored to be joined this evening by a woman who has been through hell, Anna Zarutska,” the president continued. “In 2022, she and her beautiful daughter, Iryna, fled war-torn Ukraine to live with relatives near Charlotte, North Carolina. »
“Last summer, 23-year-old Iryna was heading home on the train when a deranged monster – who has been arrested more than a dozen times and released on no-cash bail – stood up and violently slashed her neck and body with a knife,” Trump added.
President Trump added, “No one will ever forget the look of terror on Iryna’s face as she watched her attacker in the final seconds of her life,” referring to video footage of Iryna Zarutska’s gruesome murder that later circulated on social media.
“She had escaped a brutal war only to be killed by a hardened criminal, free to kill in America,” Trump proclaimed, before promising Iryna Zarutska’s mother, who could be seen crying in the audience, “We will ensure justice for your beautiful daughter, Iryna.”
Trump’s remarks were met with a standing ovation. Democrats, however, sat tight, refusing to acknowledge the president’s promise to the 23-year-old’s parents.

“I am calling on Congress to pass strong legislation to ensure that violent and dangerous repeat offenders are put behind bars and, most importantly, stay there,” the president added.
