The former launcher of Chicago White Sox, Bobby Jenks, died at the age of 44 in a rare form of stomach cancer.
Jenks was a twice star launcher for the Chicago White Sox and was part of the team that ended its 88 years for a World Series title in 2005.
He launched the last launch of the match in the fourth game in the series while the White Sox beat the Astros of Houston.
“We have lost an emblematic member of the White Sox family,” said White Sox president Jerry Reinsdorf, in a statement.
“None of us will never forget everything that Bobby has done for the champions of the World Series 2005 and for the entire Sox organization during his stay in Chicago.”
