Boomer Esiason lays out lackluster accomodations for Bengals’ Ring of Honor ceremony in October

There is a story that the Bengals of Cincinnati are one of the cheapest teams in the League. The legend of the Boomer Esiason franchise did not help to dissuade this story on Friday.
In his radio program, “Boomer and Gio” by Wfan with the co -host Gregg Giannotti, Esiason went deeply on accommodation – or his absence – that the team offered to the old quarterrier to attend an event for the Bengal Honor Ring in October.

The event, which honored the former offensive line of the Bengals Dave Lapham and the Coin Demi Lemar Parrish as part of the 2025 class, will take place during the home match against the New York Jets on October 26. Lapham and Parrish will bring the total number of winners to 12.
EsiSon, the MVP of the NFL of 1988, which spent most of its career with Cincinnati, was inducted in the Ring of Honor in 2023. Consequently, he was invited to the match against the jets with the other inducted to celebrate the new members.
But Esiason did not seem sure of the invitation: “I don’t know how to take this invitation, it’s the thing,” he said in the show.
While Esiason read the emails of Bengals on adaptations aloud in the show, he quickly became clear why.

As part of the invitation, Esiason obtains two free tickets for the game, plus the option to buy another ticket. But rather than paying the trips and accommodation of Esiaston, as you would expect, the team said they paid a room block at the Renaissance hotel in Cincinnati, and that Esiason could stay there for a “preferred rate and at reduced prices”.
Friday, Esiaston had to RSVP to “guarantee” his seats for the match. The former quarter-Arrière later added that he thought he should also pay his flight.
Giannotti, although initially confused about Esiason’s skepticism, has developed less and less on board with the offer. As Esiason arrived at the end of the email, which ended with “Thank you and who Dey” (Le Chant des Bengals), Giannotti was disconcerted.

“Who thinks they are, making you pay for your own hotel room?” Giannotti joked.
EsiSon asked if it was “elitist” to say no to this offer, but Giannotti quickly took his side.
“Your name is on the stadium,” said Giannotti, adding later: “I’m sorry, but for a franchise in the NFL, it’s embarrassing.”
In the past, Bengals have acquired a reputation to be cheap, both in terms of players and investment contracts in facilities. Cincinnati has been considerably improved in this year’s NFLPA report for some of these categories, including third place for the locker room and a 10th place for team trips. But the team has always obtained a low score in terms of meals and restaurants, and obtained an F- for the treatment of families – which makes the offer dull for accommodation a little less surprised.

We do not know if EsiSon will eventually accept the offer, but the former quarter-rear and the current New York resident made a joke on a radical solution to go to Ohio.
“Maybe I could fly with the jets, come back with the jets,” joked Esiason. “Maybe (the jet head coach) Aaron Glenn would let me go.”
