Border Patrol Chief Reminds ‘Anarchists’ What Will Determine When Agents Might Leave Minneapolis – RedState

Minneapolis continues to be a crucial battleground between those who support the rule of law when it comes to illegal alien criminals and those who do not. And something that’s come to the fore more and more in recent days is disagreement over whether what’s happening on the ground should be considered a “peaceful” demonstration of free speech or outright riots.

A ruling by a federal judge Friday night touches on that question, as my colleague Bob Hoge wrote, and it could tie the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents:

They are now prohibited from using crowd control tools like pepper spray — which, if you’ve watched any of the videos coming out of the Twin Cities, you know has been a crucial method of restraining angry activists — and they are prohibited from arresting “peaceful” protesters who are supposed to be exercising their First Amendment rights. (I don’t see how saying what you believe is the same as pointing your car at law enforcement, but maybe that’s just me.)

Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino has been involved in operations across the country for months — but most recently in Minnesota — and it’s worth taking a look at what things look like on the ground in Minneapolis, based on his experience.

My colleague Sister Toldjah wrote about her recent interview accusing two Democratic leaders, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, of inciting protesters and inspiring attacks on ICE. We also learned Friday evening that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has opened a preliminary investigation into the anti-ICE actions of Frey and Walz.

Today, CBP Commander Bovino has more to say about ICE’s mission in the Twin Cities in an exclusive new interview with NewsNation.

In this clip, he exposes the harsh truth for all leftists who suffer from the delusion that they can run agents out of town, with ICE leaving before the “mission is accomplished”:

He told reporter Ali Bradley that agents are committed to staying on track with the mission in Minnesota, for as long as necessary, to arrest and deport all illegal criminals allowed into the country amid Biden’s chaos.

He also spoke about President Trump and the Homeland Security Section (DHS). Kristi Noem remains “laser-focused” on the current situation in Minneapolis, especially in light of the Insurrection Act:

Bovino made sure to explain that he didn’t want to “preempt” any decisions POTUS or Noem might make regarding insurrection, but stressed that they were getting all the first-hand information they needed, if any.

He also spoke about police reports of what he calls anarchists attacking ordinary citizens’ vehicles if they think they might be law enforcement:

“I now call them anarchists, these anarchists, these rioters, these bad people who wish to harm law enforcement, are now harming American citizens.” He said many vehicles in hotel parking lots where protesters suspect ICE agents are staying are vandalized, the cars “of innocent civilians – they don’t care.”

In other words, their violent actions don’t just affect ICE. It is absolutely necessary that justice be done in the long term in the face of this kind of radical behavior.
