Borderlands 4 for Switch 2 is on ‘pause’

“We have made the difficult decision to pause development of this SKU,” Take-Two spokesperson Alan Lewis said in a statement released by Variety. “Our focus continues to deliver quality post-launch content to players through ongoing improvements to optimize the game. We continue to work closely with our friends at Nintendo. We have ‘PGA Tour 2K25’ coming out and ‘WWE 2K26.’ [for Switch 2]and we are extremely excited to bring more of our titles to this platform in the future.
Take-Two, which owns Borders 4 Developer Gearbox announces the pause alongside its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results. On Take-Two’s future game lineup included in an earnings press release, Grand Theft Auto VI is still scheduled for November 19, 2026. Marketing for the game’s launch is expected to begin this summer, so perhaps it won’t be delayed yet. The lineup also includes “TBD” launch dates for Judaswhich was officially announced in 2022, and the “next iteration” of the BioShock series, which has had a difficult development.
Additionally, Take-Two says that Grand Theft Auto Vlaunched in 2013, has sold more than 225 million units so far.
