EXCLUSIVE: Grieving Father Says No Dem Lawmakers Have Contacted Him Since Daughter’s Murder

Stephen Federico, the father of Logan Federico, 22, told the daily that no democratic legislator had contacted him since his murder.
Logan was shot dead during a suspected home invasion of May 3 while visiting friends in Columbia, South Carolina. The Democratic representative of South Carolina James Clyburn represents the district where Logan Federico was killed.
When the appellant asked Federico if a democratic legislator, including Clyburn, had set out since the death of his daughter, he said no.
Referring to the Democratic representative of North Carolina Deborah Ross, he added: “One called my daughter the bad name yesterday.” (Related: Democrat repaca for apologizing after mixing the victims of murder before a mourning father)
Federico told the appellant that he thought that some legislators would stand out and will continue to defend the rights of the long -term victims while others are likely to fade. Clearly shaking that the question has become political, “he said:” It was never my intention, you could speak to anyone, I never wanted it to be on race or politics, but it has become a matter of politics. “
Federico said he thought people like the man accused of the murder of Federico, Alexander Dickey, 30, embarrassed the chances of rehabilitating others.

“There was a rule of 3 strikes, when she became a 40 strike rule for Alexander Dickey? There is no second chance that people like Alexander Dickey, he haunts this for people who can be corrected … There can be no second chance for people who commit violent crimes,” he told the appellant.
The authorities accused Dickey of two heads of burglary in the first degree in 2014, then served mandates for an accusation of burglary in the third degree in the first degree in October, according to Wis10. The man pleaded guilty for an accusation of non -violent burglary in the second degree and was sentenced to 10 years suspended in the midst of probation.
Dickey faced the two other burglary counts the following year, although one was abandoned. He pleaded guilty of burglary in the third degree. Dickey pleaded guilty for the third time to a third degree burglary in 2023 after initially faced a violent burglary in the second degree. The lawyer for the eleventh Circuit Circuit Court Rick Hubbard said that his office did not know the previous charges of burglary and the guilty pleas of Dickey in the middle of the case in 2023.
Logan’s father wondered if the legislators made it enough to solve the problem of recurrences while speaking to the appellant, stressing legislative and judicial policies, he argued the criminals to endanger the public. “The problem is as follows, that should not come to the death of Logan for it to happen. There has been a horrible weak conviction, for long species for a long time, and that has only destroyed our country.”
Out of 67,966 state prisoners released in 2005, the authorities apprehended 68% in 3 years, 79% in 6 years and 83% within 9 years, according to a report from the Ministry of Justice of the justice office. Federico cited these statistics to the caller.
He noted that the prison is supposed to rehabilitate people, but argued that Dickey has never spent enough time behind bars to find out if rehabilitation could have worked – noting that it only served 600 days over a decade. “I would say that the chances are against career criminals never rehabilitated.”

Federico explained that even if he would never wish that the alleged execution of anyone who was filmed, the video of the 23 -year -old Ukrainian refugee, Iyna Zarutska, brought people like her daughter to the attention of the public. “I think that when you see something like what happened on Charlotte Rail, like Iryna, and that it was on video, I think the video says a lot,” he told the appellant. Federico said his daughter was a “unique” person he would like the public to know. “She was unique, she loved fiercely, forgave often and was faithful. SHe devoted his life to fighting for the oppressed, the child who did not come back, who was not part of the group. SHe made sure that they were invited to a group to make sure they were part of the group and never left alone. »»
Décarlos Brown would have stabbed Zarutska on August 22 aboard a tram in Charlotte, in North Carolina, killing her.
The appellant contacted Clyburn to comment but has not yet received an answer.
