New York – Liberty star, Breanna Stewart, left the defeat of team 101-99 against Los Angeles sparks on Saturday evening after 3 minutes with a lower leg injury.

Stewart had three points and a rebound before his departure. Stewart seemed to hurt the leg while riding the ground. She went to the locker room and never returned to the bench.

“No update, I hope she will be fine,” said Liberty Sandy Brondello coach after the defeat that broke a sequence of five consecutive victories.

New York played the second half of a consecutive back. Stewart had a silent score match in Friday’s victory against Phoenix with only six points. She had eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two interceptions.

Stewart entered the game with an average of 19 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists on the season to help New York (17-7) in the second best record in the WNBA.

The MVP twice had not missed a match this season. After playing a large part of July at home, New York will be on the road for five of its next six games.

New York also underwent two other injuries while Kennedy Burke had cramps and Leonie Fiebich was faced with a hand injury that she suffered against Phoenix.

“She is hard and resilient, she crossed,” said Brondello about Fiebich.
