Hurricane Erin has brought deadly rip currents to the east coast of the United States, by dipping parts of the Atlantic coast, including the external banks of North Carolina. Although the hurricane is not supposed to touch the ground, the effects are felt along the beaches. The National Hurricane Center noted that Erin is still a “growing growing hurricane” with a maximum sustained winds of around 105 MPH (265 km / h).
