Multiple people stabbed at Walmart in Traverse City; 1 in custody, police say
Several people were injured in a stabbing incident in a Walmart to Cross -City in Michigan, announced on Saturday evening. A suspect is in detention.
Michigan state police said in a position on X that the Sheriff’s Bureau of the County Grand Traverse was investigating the incident. The agency asked people to avoid the area during the continuation of the investigation.
MUNSON Healthcare, based in northern Michigan, said in an article on Facebook that he treated 11 people in his City Traveate Medical Center and “worked closely with local authorities and emergency services to guarantee the best possible care for those affected”. The nature of the injuries and the conditions of the patients were not immediately provided.
A spokesperson for Walmart Corporate, Joe Pennington, told the Associated Press by e-mail that the company “worked with the police and postponed questions at the moment”.
Messages requesting comments have been left with the police and mayor Amy Shamroe.
Crossing City is around 255 miles northwest of Detroit.
